Netapp & Vmware - Disaster Recovery & Backup

• Vmware has introduced a beta version of SRM (Site Recovery Manager 1.0)
• Key feature include virtualization for Disaster recovery.
• Have reduced hardware requirement in production as well as at DR site.
• Data replicated to DR site through Netapp Snapmirror. (Through port 10566, fyi).
  
• Vmware SRM 1.0 supports ISCSI & FCP only. Support for other protocols in later versions.
• Netapp also have plans to introduce SnapManager VI. (specially for virtualization)
